Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Oversee the claim(s) process
- Ensure all claim aspects are properly documented and managed
- Conduct on-site inspection to assess extent of damages and scope of repairs
- Evaluate loss reports and damage estimates provided by field appraisers and contractors
- Coordinate with policyholders, contractors, legal advisors, and other insurance professionals
- Assess damages and calculate the cost of repairs or replacement
- Prepare detailed reports of findings
- Maintain documentation for all aspects of the claim
- Handle disputes and discrepancies in damage assessments and claim valuations
- Perform quality control review and proper documentation of work product
Qualifications & Skills
- 15+ years of experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, and/or Construction Management
- Analytical skills, creative problem solving, and written communication
- Cool under pressure of quick deadlines while juggling multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to navigate complex claims
- Deep understanding of construction processes and insurance principles
- Experience in construction and construction-related insurance claims
- Experience in construction insurance appraisal process
- Experience in cost estimating
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, and healthcare projects
- Experience with RS Means, Xactimate, Timberline, or similar estimating tools
- Certifications such as CPCU, AIC, CCM, CEP or other similar certifications a plus
- Located in Houston or Dallas preferably (or other Texas locations)
