Karen Deshon brings over 15 years of experience in engineering, procurement, construction management, project controls, and project management. She is dedicated to ensuring excellence in project execution as she has led and managed small- and large- scale projects totaling over $1 billion. The bulk of her experience within the commercial, retail, roadway, government, and industrial sectors lends to skills gained in strategic planning, commissioning of projects, claims avoidance, risk identification, and forecasting. Karen’s leadership is evident in the successful planning, management, and evaluation of a diverse spectrum of projects. Her management capabilities extend beyond project timelines and documents as she has coordinated subcontractors, in-house teams, clients, regulatory officials, and stakeholders.

Holding several project management positions at a top Engineering News-Record (ENR) recognized contractor, Karen has been integral to overseeing assessments of prime contracts, delay and disruption evaluations, and productivity issues. Her experience includes supporting, and providing testimony for, a litigation effort from the initial complaint phase to a $100 million settlement. In addition, Karen has proven success in problem-solving civil, electrical, low voltage, plumbing, and mechanical issues. This led to her expertise in risk identification, claims avoidance, and dispute resolution.

Demonstrating versatility, Karen’s career has been marked with several large-scale and/or mega-projects ranging from $2 million to $650 million. She has leveraged her diverse skillset to consistently contribute to project success in pre-, during, and post-construction phases. Notable projects in Karen’s diverse portfolio which demonstrate her adeptness in handling complex projects include, but are not limited to, the $650 million Miami Beach Convention Center Renovation in Miami Beach, FL; the $31 million I-95 and Sample Road Interchange in Pompano Beach, FL; and the $12 million MIA Terminal-Wide Restroom Modernization Projects in Miami, FL.
